Time to turn and face the strange. 2018 was a bit of a shit show. Not gonna lie about that. I did just about nothing to forward the career I want. 2019, thus far, has started with self-doubt. Keeping in mind that I wrote during about only a quarter of the amount I set aside for writing, it was something of a failure. I can attribute this to no one but myself. I had plenty of time. What I lacked was motivation.

I spent a good deal of time in my off moments in December 2018 and the first half of January, 2019 pondering motivation. I questioned my motivations for doing what I had set out to do last year and what I want to do this year. The realization I came to was that it’s not a whim as I was starting to think. Laziness, which has been my biggest foe, is just self-doubt in disguise. In 2019, I’m banishing self-doubt.

I’ve also come to the realization that some of the things I’ve been doing are either not working or aren’t helping me work towards my goals. They’re taking up time that could be better spent elsewhere. Obviously, the day job is the biggest of these, but I can’t do anything about that at present. What I can do is use my time and marketing tools more effectively. 2019 will be bringing major changes to my website, blogs, and publications. Look for all this to be kicking off in the next few weeks.

Have a great week everyone!
